Prudential introduces a new round of support measures for Hong Kong citizens amid the pandemic

Setting aside HK$5 million for the “COVID-19 Caring Fund” to fight the epidemic with the local community

Offers HK$10,000 subsidy to individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 through the ‘Pulse by Prudential’ health and wellness app

In light of the fourth wave of COVID-19 outbreak in the city, Prudential Hong Kong Limited (‘Prudential’) is setting aside HK$5 million for a ‘COVID-19 Caring Fund’ (the ‘Fund’), taking a step further to protect the health of Hong Kong citizens following its ‘Free COVID-19 Protection’ introduced earlier this year. Through the ‘Pulse by Prudential’ (‘Pulse’’) health and wellness app, this new initiative is set to offer additional support for individuals affected by COVID-19.

From today until 14 January 2021, all Hong Kong identity card holders aged 18 or above and residing in Hong Kong can register for the financial subsidy from Prudential “COVID-19 Caring Fund” through Pulse. Eligible registrant who is diagnosed with COVID-19 on or before 31 March 2021 can apply for a HK$ 10,000 subsidy to help relieve their financial stress.

The registration for the Fund is simple and easy. Simply download the Pulse app for free and register for an account with a Hong Kong mobile number, followed by submitting personal details required on the ‘COVID-19 Caring Fund’ registration page. An official email confirmation will be sent to the user upon successful registration.

Overview of ‘COVID-19 Caring Fund’ *

HK$10,000 subsidy for each eligible registrant diagnosed with COVID-19

  • Eligible registrant of the Fund who is diagnosed with COVID-19[1] on or before 31 March 2021 can apply for a one-off financial subsidy of HK$10,000
  • Provision of subsidy will be subjected to a quota of 500, on first-come-first-served basis

Eligibility

  • All Hong Kong identity card holders aged 18 or above and residing in Hong Kong
  • Users of ‘Pulse by Prudential’ who have successfully completed the registration for the Fund (upon official confirmation email sent by Prudential)

Registration period

From now to 14 January 2021

Eligible registrant diagnosed with a local confirmed case of COVID-19 in Hong Kong at least 7 days after the registration for the Fund and within the application period on or before 31 March 2021.
